IAOM Training Forums: Global Knowledge Sharing (2021–Present)
TANIS creates global impact by sharing its sectoral knowledge not only through production but also on international education platforms. At regional training forums organized by IAOM (International Association of Operative Millers), we proudly represented Turkey with our technical presentations in countries such as Zambia, Rwanda, Indonesia, and Saudi Arabia. By sharing our experience in milling technologies, process optimization, and facility efficiency with sector professionals, we became a reliable source of information in the global arena. TANIS will continue this knowledge-sharing mission and will actively participate in many international organizations in the future.
In 2020, TANIS Group’s seed technologies production line was strategically moved to Mersin under the leadership of Eray and Tacettin TAN, establishing a new production facility called “TANIS Seed Production Technologies.” By producing seed and legume processing machines from the existing product portfolio at this facility, overall production capacity was increased by 20%. At the same time, thanks to Mersin being a port city and its strategic sectoral position, TANIS has risen to become the leader in Turkey and second in the world after Bühler in seed and legume processing technologies.
TANIS Group is today one of the most comprehensive and integrated industrial organizations in its sector, capable of producing all machinery and equipment in-house in the fields of milling, seed processing, feed technologies, silo systems, and steel construction.
Corn Flour & Semolina Quality Upgrade Project in Gaziantep (2024-2025)
We provided technological transformation as TANIS in the quality improvement project of Değirmenci Tarım company, which operates in Gaziantep Organized Industrial Zone and has a daily corn grinding capacity of 500 tons. Within the scope of the project, our Sorton color sorter, new generation corn husker, and high-efficiency vertical degerminator machines were gradually put into operation. With this transformation, the oil ratio, which was at 1.2-1.5 levels in previous horizontal systems, was reduced to the 0.5-0.8% range. At the same time, capacity per machine increased from 3 tons to 5 tons. The color sorter reduced the black spot ratio in the final product, while our husker and degerminator machines significantly increased product purity and quality standards. This case is an example of how quality and capacity can be improved together through on-site engineering solutions and customer cooperation.
Seed Cleaning Systems Project for Eskişehir Villages (2000)
In 2000, within the scope of the Village Development Project led by Eskişehir Provincial Directorate of Agriculture, we successfully manufactured and shipped 200 village-type seed cleaning units as TANIS. In these systems designed according to the specific needs of each village, selectors with 2.5 tons/hour capacity were developed for small settlements and 5 tons/hour capacity for large villages. Thanks to the project, seed quality was improved in all villages in the region, and farmers’ ability to clean and improve their own local seeds was strengthened. This project was one of the first large-scale steps where TANIS contributed to rural development through domestic production.
Sustainability and Environmental Responsibility Projects
Seed Breeding Facilities for Rural Development in Ethiopia (2016-2017)
Between 2016-2017, within the scope of the rural development program carried out with USAID support, we established 4 seed breeding facilities with 15 tons/hour capacity in different regions of Ethiopia as TANIS. This project, with a total budget of 3 million USD, was completed as turnkey in just 10 months. To ensure the operational sustainability of each facility, a total of 20 local personnel were included in a comprehensive training program and earned the right to receive operator certificates. The project made a concrete contribution to regional development by improving the quality and efficiency of local agricultural production.
