Closed-Type Stone Bulgur Peeling Innovation in Turkey (1970–1980)

Tanış stepped into the international market with its first export in 1980. A total of 5 legume cleaning and sorting screens, each with 8 cases, were produced for Syria with a total value of 80,000 USD and shipped with 5 trucks to Damascus, Deir ez-Zor, Aleppo, and Homs regions.

On-site installation and commissioning work was carried out by Tanış engineers, thus the systems were put into operation in a short time. This first export became the starting point of Tanış’s quality, engineering, and trust-based export vision and formed the foundation of its global successes in the following years.

Impact and Results:

• Shipment of approximately 500 machines nationwide within ten years
• Pioneering the transformation of the bulgur industry especially in Southeastern Anatolia
• Bringing high hygiene, capacity, and occupational safety standards to the sector
• Turning point in the industrial production of bulgur

Saudi Arabia/Jeddah (1988)

In 1988, Tanış carried the fava bean peeling, cracking, and processing technology developed for the first time in Turkey to the international market and exported a 5 ton/hour capacity fully automatic plant to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

This plant had the distinction of being the first automatic fava bean processing plant in the country and created a new standard in the region in terms of both production hygiene and efficiency. This system developed with Tanış’s engineering power became a turning point not only for Turkey but also for the Middle East market in legume technologies.

Beginning of Modern Roller Mill Exports (1987 to Present)

Tanış started production of roller modern mills in 1987, first exporting to countries such as Algeria, Syria, and Iraq, then continued its expansion in markets such as Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine, and Tatarstan, mostly with compact chassis systems.
