Climate Change and Energy Efficiency

With our solar energy investments, we meet 25% of our Gaziantep facility’s electricity needs from renewable sources.
Water Management and Conservation
Water is a critical resource in milling processes, especially in grain cleaning and tempering stages. Since water stress is an increasingly environmental challenge, water efficiency and responsible water management are among our priorities. We minimize our water consumption with closed-loop water systems, advanced filtration technologies, and process optimization. Our water recovery and treatment facilities enable 70% of used water to be reused. We monitor water usage in real-time with smart sensors and automatic control systems and keep it at optimum levels. We create alternative water sources by installing rainwater harvesting systems in our mill operations. Thanks to our water-efficient technologies, we have managed to reduce the amount of water required to process one ton of grain to 40% below the industry average.
We adopt circular economy principles to minimize waste generated in milling processes and recover it to the value chain. In line with our “Waste to Value” approach, we develop alternative usage areas for by-products, reduce packaging waste, and prefer reusable materials. Solar-Powered Mill Project
Our 2.5 MW capacity solar power plant implemented at our Gaziantep facility meets 25% of our annual electricity needs, reducing our carbon emissions by 1,800 tons per year. Our project, which optimally utilizes the facility area with rooftop and ground-mounted solar panels, is one of the largest investments in renewable energy use in the sector. The project has an 8-year payback period and will provide significant cost advantages for the next 17 years.
Zero Waste Mill Transformation
The Zero Waste program we implemented at our Konya facility enabled 98% of waste to be recycled or reused.
