Our Value and Solution Approach
As TANIS A.Ş., we offer systems specially designed for each customer’s needs rather than standard solutions. Our approach is based on comprehensive needs analysis, sectoral expertise, and efforts to deeply understand customer business processes. With our sixty years of experience and expertise spanning thirty countries, we approach each project with a holistic perspective and develop engineering solutions in collaboration with customers. This approach is the key to the success of our projects and our high customer satisfaction.
Impact Areas of Our Success Stories
The solutions we provide to our customers generally create impact in four main areas:
- Efficiency Increase: Significant increases in production capacity through optimal technology selection and system design
- Quality Improvement: Consistency and improvement in product quality through standardization and precise control systems
- Energy Savings: Significant reduction in energy consumption through innovative technologies
- Cost Optimization: Reducing operating costs and increasing profitability
Each success story demonstrates concrete results in these impact areas.
We provided technological transformation as TANIS in the quality improvement project of Değirmenci Tarım company operating in Gaziantep Organized Industrial Zone. Within the scope of the project, our Sorton color sorter, new generation corn peeler, and high-efficiency vertical degerminator machines were gradually commissioned. With this transformation, the oil ratio was significantly reduced compared to previous horizontal systems. At the same time, capacity per machine increased substantially. The color sorter reduced the black spot ratio in the final product, while our peeler and degerminator machines significantly increased product purity and quality standards. This case is an example of how quality and capacity can be improved together through on-site engineering solutions and customer cooperation.
Integrated Wheat and Corn Mill Facility in South Sudan
We built the country’s largest flour and corn processing complex in the city of Jua, South Sudan for Prestige Millers company. A special system was designed where both wheat and corn could be processed in separate lines under the same roof. The project was successfully delivered with phased developments. The facility has an integrated structure capable of simultaneous production of wheat flour, semolina, bran, and corn flour, grits, and bran, with high-capacity corn drying units, various packaging lines for different package types, large raw material storage areas. This structure has become a success story that is exemplary not only in South Sudan but throughout the African continent.
Within the scope of the rural development program carried out with USAID support, we established numerous seed improvement facilities in different regions of Ethiopia as TANIS. This project was completed as turnkey in a short time. To ensure the operational sustainability of each facility, local personnel were included in a comprehensive training program and became eligible to receive operator certificates. The project made a concrete contribution to regional development by increasing the quality and efficiency of local agricultural production.
Establishment of TANIS Seed Production Technologies Facility in Mersin
The seed technology production line of TANIS Group was moved to Mersin under the leadership of Eray and Tacettin TAN with a strategic decision, establishing a new production facility called “TANIS Seed Production Technologies.” With the production of seed and legume processing machines in the existing product portfolio at this facility, the overall production capacity was significantly increased. At the same time, thanks to Mersin being a port city and its strategic sectoral position, TANIS has become the leader in Turkey and second in the world after Bühler in seed and legume processing technologies.
TANIS Group is today one of the most comprehensive and integrated industrial organizations in its sector, capable of producing all machinery and equipment in milling, seed processing, feed technologies, silo systems, and steel construction within its own structure.
TANIS creates global impact by sharing its sectoral knowledge not only through production but also on international education platforms. In regional training forums organized by IAOM (International Association of Operative Millers), we proudly represented Turkey with our technical presentations in countries such as Zambia, Rwanda, Indonesia, and Saudi Arabia. By sharing our experience in milling technologies, process optimization, and facility efficiency with industry professionals, we became a reliable source of knowledge in the global arena. TANIS will continue this knowledge-sharing mission and will actively participate in many international organizations in the future.
Within the scope of the Village Development Project led by Eskişehir Provincial Directorate of Agriculture, we successfully carried out the manufacturing and shipment of numerous village-type seed cleaning units as TANIS. In these systems designed according to the specific needs of each village, selectors were developed with capacities suitable for small and large settlements. Thanks to the project, seed quality was improved in all villages in the region, and farmers’ ability to clean and improve their own local seeds was strengthened. This project was one of the first large-scale steps where TANIS contributed to rural development through domestic production.
TANIS’s First Export: Legume Screening Systems to Syria
TANIS took its first step into the international market by making its first export. Legume cleaning and sorting screens were produced for Syria and shipped to Damascus, Deir ez-Zor, Aleppo, and Homs regions. On-site installation and commissioning work was carried out by TANIS engineers, thus the systems were put into operation in a short time. This first export became the starting point of TANIS’s export vision based on quality, engineering, and trust, and formed the foundation of its global successes in subsequent years.
Bulgur production in the Gaziantep region was carried out for a long time using traditional methods, by manually pushing wheat between rotating stones. TANIS modernized this difficult and inefficient process and began producing Turkey’s first closed, automatically fed stone bulgur peeling machines. Over the years, numerous machines were shipped throughout the country, pioneering the transformation of the bulgur industry especially in Southeast Anatolia. Since Turkey is a wheat country, bulgur production is a strategic food area, and these machines brought high hygiene, capacity, and work safety to the sector. This technology became a turning point in the industrial production of bulgur.
Turkey’s First Fava Bean Processing Plant Export: Saudi Arabia / Jeddah
TANIS carried out a fully automatic plant export to the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, by bringing the fava bean peeling, splitting, and processing technology developed for the first time in Turkey to the international market. This facility had the distinction of being the first automatic fava bean processing plant throughout the country, creating a new standard in the region in terms of both production hygiene and efficiency. This system developed with TANIS’s engineering power became a turning point not only for Turkey but also for the Middle East market in legume technologies.
Export of Modern Roller Mills and Growth with Compact Systems
TANIS began producing roller modern mills and first exported to countries such as Algeria, Syria, and Iraq, then continued its expansion in markets such as Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine, and Tatarstan, mostly with compact chassis systems. These systems stood out with fast installation, low space requirements, and suitable investment costs for that period; they moved TANIS from being a regional mill supplier to a strong player position in the global market. Today, modernization, part replacement, and capacity increase requests are still received for these systems; some old installations are being renewed with new generation solutions and brought back to production.
The Arrival of the First Roller Mill to Gaziantep and the TAN Family’s First Mastery Period in Milling
The first roller mill to arrive in Gaziantep was imported by the famous businessman Necip Teymur as German-origin. For installation, along with the engineer coming from Germany, only the cast parts, pulleys, and shafts of the rollers belonging to the grinding unit were brought, and all construction and assembly work was completed with local craftsmanship. During this period, Ali Kemal TAN, a well-known wood craftsman in the region, earned the appreciation of the German engineer and was included in the assembly process, and the mill was commissioned after long and meticulous work.
Following this process, Gaziantep’s second roller mill was also brought from Europe, and Ali Kemal TAN from the TAN family and his son Kemal TAN personally took part in the assembly process. This mill was installed for Selahattin Öztahtaç and his father; these efforts played a critical role in laying the foundations of OBA Pasta, which later became one of Turkey’s largest pasta producers. The TAN family’s contribution to this process is one of the cornerstones of both industrial heritage and TANIS’s engineering culture.
