As Tanış A.Ş., we make significant contributions to the food security and agricultural development goals of the region through our mill and grain processing facility projects carried out on the African continent. Our technology solutions specially developed for the continent’s unique conditions, our approach focused on strengthening local capacity and creating sustainable food systems, form the foundation of our successfully completed projects in different regions of Africa.
Africa’s rapidly growing population and urbanization dynamics make increasing grain processing capacity a strategic priority. As Tanış A.Ş., we implement sustainable and efficient mill projects with our special solutions adapted to the continent’s diverse climate conditions, unique grain types and infrastructure challenges.
We constructed the country’s largest flour and corn processing complex in the city of Juba, South Sudan, for Prestige Millers company. A special system was designed where both wheat and corn could be processed in separate lines under the same roof. The project, which began in 2020, was successfully delivered in 2023 with phased developments. The facility has an integrated structure capable of producing 100 tons per hour corn drying unit, packaging lines ranging from 1-50 kg for different packaging types, 15,000 tons of raw material storage area, and simultaneous production of wheat flour, semolina, bran along with corn flour, semolina and bran. This structure has become a success story that serves as an example not only in South Sudan but throughout the African continent.
Between 2016-2017, within the scope of the rural development program carried out with USAID support, as TANIS, we established 4 seed improvement facilities with a capacity of 15 tons/hour in different regions of Ethiopia. This project with a total budget of 3 million USD was completed as turnkey in just 10 months. To ensure the operational sustainability of each facility, a total of 20 local personnel were included in a comprehensive training program and earned the right to receive operator certification. The project made a concrete contribution to regional development by improving the quality and efficiency of local agricultural production.
TANIS creates global impact by sharing its sectoral knowledge accumulation not only through production but also on international education platforms. At regional training forums organized by IAOM (International Association of Operative Millers), we proudly represented Turkey with our technical presentations in countries such as Zambia, Rwanda, Indonesia and Saudi Arabia. By sharing our experience in milling technologies, process optimization and facility efficiency with industry professionals, we became a reliable source of knowledge in the global arena. TANIS will continue this knowledge-sharing mission and will actively participate in many international organizations in the future.
