Our Social Responsibility Philosophy
As Tanış A.Ş., we aim to create not only economic value but also social value. Our corporate citizenship understanding is based on acting with a sense of responsibility toward the society we are part of and contributing to society’s development. Guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, we particularly contribute to the goals of “Quality Education,” “Healthy Individuals,” “Decent Work and Economic Growth,” and “Reducing Inequalities.” We value the participation of all our stakeholders and aim to create greater impact by developing multi-faceted collaborations.
We concentrate our social contribution efforts in four strategic areas:
- Education and professional development: Projects aimed at training qualified human resources for the future and supporting equality of opportunity in education
- Health and social welfare: Work to protect and improve public health and enhance access to healthcare services
- Culture-arts: Preservation of cultural heritage and support for artistic activities
- Local development: Initiatives that contribute to economic and social development in the regions where we operate
We systematically measure and evaluate the impact of all our social contribution projects. In line with the goals we set at the beginning of our projects, we track our progress with quantitative and qualitative indicators. We prepare regular impact assessment reports and continuously improve our projects with feedback from our stakeholders. In accordance with our principles of transparency and accountability, we share all results with the public in our annual sustainability reports.
Our “Advanced Technology in Vocational Education” Program
Since 2017, through our “Advanced Technology in Vocational Education” program, we contribute to improving the quality of vocational education and training qualified human resources needed by the industry. Within the scope of the program, we provided modern CNC machines, robot systems, and digital control equipment to 15 vocational high schools. Additionally, we organized training for more than 200 vocational teachers on the use of industrial technologies. We create an education-employment bridge by offering internship and employment opportunities to students.
Our Scholarship and Education Support Programs
Every year, we provide scholarships to 100 successful and needy students, supporting them to continue their education. Our scholarships offer mentorship, personal development training, and internship opportunities beyond financial support. We especially encourage female students to receive education in engineering and technical fields, contributing to gender equality. To date, we have provided scholarship support to more than 500 students, and 80% of our graduates continue successful career journeys in their fields.
Our “Healthy Communities” Program
We implement the “Healthy Communities” program to improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare services in the regions where we operate. Within the scope of the program, we provide medical equipment support to health centers in rural areas and organize mobile health screenings. In the past three years, we completed 5 health center renovation projects and provided free health screening services to more than 10,000 people. Additionally, we contribute to improving service quality by organizing professional development training for healthcare workers.
Support Initiatives for Individuals with Disabilities
We carry out various projects to support the full and equal participation of individuals with disabilities in social life. Through our physical accessibility projects, we contribute to making public spaces and educational institutions disability-friendly. With our assistive technology support, we provide equipment that will facilitate the daily lives of individuals with disabilities. We also support employment of disabled individuals in our company and serve as an example to other businesses.
Local Culture and Arts Activities
We support local culture-arts activities to preserve the cultural richness of the regions where we operate and pass it on to future generations. We sponsor traditional festivals and cultural events organized every year, contributing to the sustainability of these events. We support the transfer of cultural heritage to new generations by organizing art workshops for children and young people.
Industrial Culture and Heritage Projects
We carry out our “Industrial Heritage” project to preserve and document our industrial development history. In this context, we support the restoration of historical production facilities and organize exhibitions that tell our industrial development process. We conduct oral history studies with veteran masters of our sector, preventing the loss of valuable knowledge.
“Strong Neighbors” Local Development Program
Through our “Strong Neighbors” program, we aim to strengthen the local economy in the regions where we operate. We provide technical consultancy, training, and mentorship support to local businesses. We contribute to the regional economy by giving priority to local businesses in our supply chain. In the past five years, we have supported more than 50 local SMEs and contributed to their sustainable growth.
Women’s Entrepreneurship and Economic Empowerment
We run various programs to increase women’s participation in economic life and support their entrepreneurial potential. We offer training for female entrepreneurs, microcredit support, and mentorship programs. We collaborate with women’s cooperatives and support the marketing of their products. Through these efforts, we have contributed to the economic empowerment of more than 200 women and helped them establish their own businesses.
Volunteerism and Employee Participation
Our Corporate Volunteer Program
We run a comprehensive volunteer program that supports our employees’ active participation in social projects. We provide each of our employees with 5 days of paid volunteer leave per year, encouraging them to use their professional skills for the benefit of society. Our teams that volunteer in areas such as education mentorship, technical consultancy, and environmental projects provide meaningful social contributions. Last year, our employees performed a total of 3,500 hours of volunteer work.
Employee Social Responsibility Initiatives
We support social responsibility projects initiated by our employees and provide resource and expert support. Through our “Bring Your Idea to Life” program, we evaluate our employees’ project proposals that provide social benefit and provide funding for selected projects. We match our employees’ personal donations as a company, creating greater impact together.
