The foundations of Tanış A.Ş. were laid by Ali Kemal Tan in 1956 in a 100m² shop in Gaziantep Sıhcan. Father Ali Kemal Tan and son Kemal Tan, who were assigned to install the first mill coming from Germany to the city, served the entire region in the manufacturing of mills and grain-legume screens with working hours exceeding 20 hours a day, with the diligence and work passion coming from their family roots.
Between 1956-1980, when the foundry industry was not developed, more than 10,000 units of stone mills were manufactured and shipped. Tanış Mill Machinery, which was one of the 3 manufacturers producing in the same sector in Turkey between 1960-80, was effective in the development of agriculture in the region with the production of grain and legume screens.
- Between 1975-1986, production area increased to 1,600m²
- In 1986, moved to the factory with 30,000m² area in Gaziantep 1st Organized Industrial Zone
- Production modernization was carried out in 2016
- In 2020, a new factory was opened in Mersin, expanding the seed and legume group
