TANIS stepped into the international market with its first export in 1980. A total of 5 legume cleaning and sorting screens, each with 8 boxes, were produced for Syria worth 80,000 USD and shipped to Damascus, Deir ez-Zor, Aleppo and Homs regions with 5 trucks. On-site installation and commissioning works were carried out by TANIS engineers, thus the systems were put into operation in a short time. This first export became the starting point of TANIS’s quality, engineering and trust-based export vision and formed the foundation of its global successes in the following years.
First Broad Bean Processing Plant Exported to Saudi Arabia (1988)
In 1988, TANIS carried the broad bean peeling, cracking and processing technology developed for the first time in Turkey to the international market, exporting a 5 tons/hour capacity fully automatic facility to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This facility had the distinction of being the first automatic broad bean processing facility throughout the country, establishing a new standard in the region in terms of both production hygiene and efficiency. This system developed with TANIS’s engineering power became a turning point not only for Turkey but also for the Middle East market in legume technologies.
TANIS began production of modern roller mills in 1987, first exporting to countries such as Algeria, Syria and Iraq, then continuing its expansion in markets such as Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine and Tatarstan, mostly with compact chassis systems. These systems stood out for their rapid installation, low space requirements and suitable investment costs for that period; transforming TANIS from being a regional mill supplier to a strong player in the global market. Today, modernization, parts replacement and capacity increase demands are still received for these systems; some old installations are being renewed with next-generation solutions and brought back into production.
